My Story

Welcome to Leap With Niki (LWN)! My name is Niki and I am from Metro Detroit. LWN has been a passion project of mine for many years, knowing one day it would be a business for arts and crafts, including resin, jewelry, stationary, personalized gifts, etc. I've always wanted to share my creativity with people and make a difference in this world, with a new-found focus on mental health, wellness, and faith. Leap With Niki donates 5% of all proceeds before taxes and shipping to the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), to spread awareness and in the effort to create a better tomorrow for those affected by mental health.

Leap With Niki started a long time ago when I finally decided to take a "leap of faith" with everything that I do, and wanted to encourage others to do the same. I grew up always following the rules and listening to others. I was naive and allowed people to control my decisions. I worked really hard, for others. In the process, I forgot who I truly really was and I developed anxiety. You see, I was used to a 'hustle bustle' lifestyle since college. I felt like there wasn't enough time in a day to do everything that I want to. I also felt if I kept moving, my mind would move along with it and eventually get tired. I was wrong. The more I did, the more I felt I needed to do, and the more my mind became restless. 

I didn't realize it was anxiety until I educated myself on mental health. The only thing that seemed to put my mind at peace was arts and crafts. When I am in the zone, time seems to stop, my worries vanish, and I'm just happy and joyful. I feel like I'm finally living.  

During the pandemic, we all went through some major life changes. It seemed the world finally started putting emphasis on mental health during this time. I happened to break my leg in 2021, and life really took a turn for me. I also struggled with more mental health issues after this incident (I shall spare the details). However, for someone who was always on the move, I wasn’t able to run around anymore so I trained my brain to finally relax. I did everything in my power to regain control of my life and do the things that bring me happiness, because life is too short. This allowed me to focus more on arts and crafts, do research on how to start a business, and my shop 'Leap With Niki' was officially launched in November 2021! 

With Leap With Niki, I really want to remind people that self-love, self-care, and self-acceptance is super important. You are beautiful and capable, just the way you are. There is truly nothing getting in the way of you becoming your authentic self, but you. It is easy to get lost in our day-to-day lives and forget about our mental and physical health. We need to put ourselves around people with good energy, positive vibes, that lift you up and support you in your endeavors. Once we cancel out all the noise, you can find your purpose and live a wholesome life.

In my shop, you will find chakra bracelets, faith/celestial/zodiac themed jewelry, and other items with uplifting quotes/images. I hope to spread positive energy and vibes through my hand-crafted products. My shop will also have seasonal, holiday, and other trendy projects that I may want to try. It reflects me as an artist, I can never find satisfaction in one niche alone so I like to diversify my options. Feel free to always challenge me with commission/bulk orders. I will make your vision come to life!
